Lug Nut Stuck! Help...

Can somebody please please help me???I was tryin to take my rims off my car and i got 3 of them off but the forth one is completely stuck on.4 of the lug nuts came off but the 5th one is EXTREMELY STRIPPED out and wont come off AT ALL.Its lose all the way but want come off the stud.I tried drilling a hole in it,bangin it from the rear with a hammer, jumping on a crowbar trying to break it off but nothin seems to work.Any other way i can get it off???Ive been going at this for 3days now and im on the verge of setting the damn car on fire!!!Lol..Jk..Oh yea its the front wheel and the rims are off a GT500 so the lug nuts are not sticking out in the open there inside the rim holes so a lug nut splitter is out of the question

Sounds like you might have to drill the sucker off, and replace that stud once you get the wheel off.

You need a drill bit slightly larger in diameter than the stud. As for the stud, it presses in to the rotor from behind.

Is the lugnut STUCK on there, or is it stripped, like, spinning loosely, but not coming off anymore?

Sounds like it's stripped, in which case you're fucked, the stud is bad anyway, and need to drill it off. Did you try spraying it first with WD-40 or some other lubricant?

Also, sometimes if you can somehow pry back on the lugnut as you turn it, it may come off. Get a friend so you have an extra set of hands there. Use a couple of large flat head screwdrivers to pry back firmly on the lugnut, and try turning it at the same time. Be careful not to scratch up your wheel though.

spray it with wd40 like zip said. Let it sit for 5 or more mins.....then bang on the lug nut with a hammer and something solid holding it directly towards the nut. That might help loosen. Hope that makes sense.

First, try the impact gun, as garhfer suggested, if you have access to one.

If you need to drill it out, do this:

1. Drill a pilot hole in the center of the stud, right through the head of the lugnut, if need be, with a 1/8" drill bit. (I'm assuming you have nice chrome lugnuts that aren't open ended like regular lugnuts)
2. Once the pilot hole is drilled, use a slightly larger drill bit, and drill through the head of the lugnut again.
3. Find a drill bit that is slightly larger in diameter than the stud. You can use one of the other studs on the car as a guide to picking the right diameter drill bit.
4. Drill again through the head of the lugnut, all the way through, until it falls off or is free.
5. Curse like a sailor at the fact that you still probably have to replace the stud in the rotor.

If you wind up having to do this, and are going to replace the stud, you might as well buy 5 of them and replace them all while it's apart.

Question for you guys: Are the studs on that year car pressed in to the rotor, or the hub? I can't remember.

You can get your socket on the lugnut, right? if so, then you can get a drill on it too. You have to be able to see the lugnut. You will be drilling the lugnut from it's end....

Here, I made this for you, I hope it helps:

that might work... might have to replace the front knuckle too but ehh w.e

zip im not sure i believe they are hub, as my new rotors don't have them in...

if it is hub hopefully its an easy fix... if not i have heard of sucky situations where you have to replace the whole knuckle to replace the hub bearing...

and take your time... and wear saftey googles... hot aluminum flying into your eye wont help your situation at all

Yeah true enough, OMZ. I've had that happen to me. Always wear eye protection when drilling.
