Cold Starting Problems (Again)

As I was walking to my car, I hit the button to remotely start the engine. It made a semi loud "pop" noise under the car. I got into the car and tried starting it. Ended up trying around 7 times until it started, and when it did it was very rough. The car was shaking all over, lasted about 10 seconds. After all that it starts fine again.

Now I've had this problem before where it takes longer then the usual to start up, but nothing like this time with the shaking. I'm thinking I need a new battery last time I fixed it simply by not using headlights until I absolutely needed to use them. Now I have fog lights on so I was turning them on a lot to make sure they hold up and every thing. That's why I think it's the battery, does any one think other wise?

Replace the battery. 50 bucks at Walmart or so. If that isnt the problem, could be a short in a wire somwhere.

I just fixed the same kind of issue. Just to be sure, go to AZ or Pep Boys and have them do the free check on the battery and alternator. Once your sure, go to Walmart because they are like $20 cheaper for our cars and you gat a 2year warranty.

I'm planning on going soon to Walmart. What kind of battery did you get or would suggest? Also what do you mean "for our cars"? I thought all car batteries were the same.

get what fits and get the cheap kind...unless the slightly more expensive one out cranks it... compare the cranking numbers on all that you are given... but ... our engines don't have much trouble compensating compression when cranking

... no walmart will be able to tell you the size of the battery...

like i said ... just make sure your crank numbers are close to what you currently have... AND shop smart... its a damn car battery for a DD ... not for a bass pounding system, or a 10 second drag car with fighter jet fuel pumps

Alright I'm just asking to be safe. I'm really not one with knows how vehicles operate. I do have my bass all the way up and pound the shit out of my stock sound system though.
Thanks for your help, I'm off to Walmart now.

OMZ is right. Walmart will show you the ones that fit. Mine was the lowest price at $52.99. Let them change it out for you. Its free. also, you wont have to bring the old one back because they will just keep it. They call that a "core" charge. They will actually add another $9 on to the price if you swap the battery out at home. They will give you the 9 bucks back when you bring your old one to them.

So just let them do it in the parking lot and you dont have to mess with it. Do yourself a favor though. Watch them do it. Its real simple but it never hurts to watch and learn.

I was on my way to Walmart then noticed a AutoZone. I stopped there to have them check my battery and alternator. They asked why I was concerned about the battery. I told them and they said that's not a battery problem, it's bad sensors most likely. He suggested I use injector cleaner first because it could just be build up. The battery and alternator both were fine too. So I'm going to try injector cleaner.
