Warranty?

ughh so i just found out that im not gonna be able to do ANY mods whatsoever for another 6 months until the warranty expires...the warranty will be voided even if i put a CAI on or anythin minor...im pissed about this... the warranty in 6 months 50% labor 50% parts if anything goes wrong...should i wait til it expires or just forget about it and start modding anyways?

You can go 2 ways with it.

Either wait, save up more for mods, then do a whole bunch at once.

OR, screw the warrenty and start modding now, go ahead and make the car what you want it to be.

Your choice.

if it is a new mustang you could wait and save up thats what i would do but if it is new i would thing that there is a slim chance of you needing to use that warrenty becuz it is new
i would wait

No its because the tech didn't care...Read your warranty paperwork...For a CAI they can deny any claim for the engine if it is on there...

They can't void your warranty unless they can conclude that ____insert after market part___ was the reason something went wrong.

A CAI will void the whole engine...IE The intake could suck something up that could cause this or this to happen...I went through it all...

- An after market shifter can be the cause of your tranny going out...
- A CAI can be the reason your engine messed up...
- Aftermarket Upper and Lower Control Arms can cause the rear-end un-needed stress causing it to break...
- Lowering Springs can mess up your whole suspension...

I went through all of this...

They can prove that any aftermarket part that you have put on is the issue...Even these mustangs that have the blowers put on from the dealership dont really have much of a warranty...What they dont tell you when they drop the whipple on your car is that you know that 3 year 36K warranty you bought? Yeah thats gone...Welcome to a 12 month 12K LIMITED WARRANTY...

I've been through it also, they tried to deny warrant because of an air intake system on my dads f150.

Edit: The real question is, is it worth it to have to fight with ford about warranty.

If they didn't deny it then they were being nice...Or you didnt come in with an issue with the engine...If an aftermarket part CAUSES a problem in the car, warranty will not cover it...It depends on how far a dealership wants to take it to how far they say the aftermarket modifications could have caused the issue...

I said that (if the part causes the problem) But they can't just immediately pop the hood and say "oh snap, K&N intake system sorry void!"

Like I've seen a guy with a pretty much stock v6 5speed, put a K&N on it, and the fuel pump went bad he called in and they said he was covered. Got to ford and they tried to insta-void him.
