Clutch Problem? HELP

When the car is on the clutch makes a grinding noise and when i place my foot on top of it i can feel it grinding. Then when I push it in it still grinds. It sounds really bad and i stipped driving it for now. I am going to the mechanic as soon as I can to get it checked out. If I need a new clutch and flywheel what would you guys recommend.

All depends on how much power you plan on adding to your car (if any), how grippy of a clutch you are willing to put up with, and if are willing to have a clutch pedal that is harder to push down on.

What are your plans for your car?

i dont plan on doing anything major to it. I would prefer if the clutch was like it is now or a little lighter maybe.

Then don't go to a performance aftermarket clutch - just get a stock replacement clutch put in. If you want the stock feel, I would recommend staying stock. And a lighter clutch pedal would not be good at all, you need some pressure or it will slip like crazy.

get your flywheel reserfaced and just go with a stock clutch. you can find them on ebay for pretty cheap alot of times, then you just have to pay to get it installed

Ok so my next question is: is it safe to drive it to work and such(work is only .7 miles from home) or should I not drive it at all until i get a new clutch. Also does anyone know how much the installation will cost?

i would also tell you to look into a GT stock clutch they are known to handle a tad more abuse then the normal V6 clutch ...

i would walk if its only .7 miles or get a ride. you dont want to drive with a messed up clutch or pretty soon you will have tranny problems from grinding the gears
