I Got Another Pony

I bought my wife a new (pre-owned) V6 two days ago. It's an orange 2004 "40th anniversary". I'm not too sure if it has the 40th anniversary upgrade package, but that is what the dealer sold it to me as. What is supposed to come standard on a 40th anniversary 'stang?

the 40th anniversary package is nothing special just the badges and a few color options nothing performance wise...

Can't remove the sticker...it's a vehicle inspection sticker. Hawaii state law demands that you have an up-to-date inspection every 1-2 years on your vehicle.

Yeah, it does suck. I had to get rid of my other car because my passenger airbag sensor was acting up. Would've cost over $2,000 to fix it. Wouldn't be able to pass inspection if I didn't have it fixed.

thats a beautiful car... wish that sticker could be put in a better spot though ... like squared up under the ford logo or something smart like that

I should take and post a picture of the engine. It's very, very clean.

BTW....the '04's are 3.9L, not 3.8L? When did that happen?

mid 04 ford changed to the 3.9L 238C.I. Vg. no extra horsepower or torque just a little change up on the engine. i have the same one. not all 04's have the 3.9L just some

Ford ran out of it's 3.8L mid year ( sales picked up ) and put the 3.9L in it

There was a big thread on this site a while back about this. Some one posted a site that said Ford ran out of the 3.8 engines and started using their 3.9 engines in its place.

s197 is faster and newer

Not that much faster, the 04 is rated at 193hp, 225ft-lbs and the 05+ is rated at 210hp, 240ft-lbs. If I was him I would take the 04 no doubt.

'04 has a limited warranty extended on it when we bought it. It's got just over 40,000 miles on it. Mine has just under 2,000 miles on it and the full warranty on it along with other forms of insurance on it.
