lowering springs with stock rims

i hate how high our stock stangs sit. question... would it look dumb to throw some 1_1/2" lowering springs on and keep the stock 16" wheels on there for the time being (eventually getting 18" S Style, but not enough $$ right now)? i just don't want the stock wheels looking extremely out of place. heres what my shoes look like...16's (sorry no direct side pic)

so...yeah, just wondering what you guys think

ya, i have 1in in the back and 1/2in in the front that makes the car level (previous owner did it, though i like the aggressive stance better)

i lowered my car before getting new wheels. it looked great, but the new wheels is where it is at. i love walking to my car out in a parking lot and seeing the wheels and all- puts me in a great mood to go out driving. but i wouldnt be as happy with the 4x4 stance. so do the drop before!
