How To Tell If The Alternator Is Going Bad

Ok well my mom is convinced that the alternator in my 97 v6 is going out because of the noice it makes. It's like a very rapid clicking / whining noise. That's about the best i could explain it. I took it to advance and had them test it and they said it was charging properly. Yet still my mom is convinced that the bushing are going out on it and you cant tell until it goes out. I took the damn thing off today and im going to take it to advanced once more to have them test it again.

Is there any other way to tell if it's going out?

If its noisy watch it. but if its still charging id leave it till it fails. are you 100% sure its bad. could just be the idler pulley making noise thats common.

That's why i took it off the car this time to go have it checked. I'll be able to find out if it was the alternator or the pull makin the noise I personaly dont believe it's bad but my car does have trouble starting alot of the times and it has low voltage but i'm thinking that it might just be the battery.

OK well none of the places in town had the right connector for testing the alternator so i couldnt get it tested. I did listen to that idle pully and i believe that's what the problem is with the noise. I'm pretty sure the alternator is fine
