Seafoam Question
I'm planning seafoaming my mustang today, but I only have about a 1/4 of a tank of gas. Should I fill up the tank before I put the seafoam in, or does it matter? The can says 1 pint = 8-25 gallons on gas, not a very descriptive range...

i think its an oz of seafoam per gallon of gas so fill up the tank and dump the whole thing in assuming that the bottle is 16 oz i believe. but just check the label to be sure bnefore you do anything

I was thinking of doing that, but I've heard from other treads to only use 1/3 of a pint in the tank, so I wasn't sure if that meant a 1/3 with a full tank or not. Is it ok to run the car that long (a whole tank) on this seafoam stuff? I have a 1/4 of a tank of gas now, would I be able to use just a 1/4 of the can? or would the 1/3 pint of seafoam be too much for what's in it now?

Well, you are right though, it is one oz per gallon, so filling the tank would make sense, but I saw the 1/3 pint thing in other threads and wasn't sure so I wanted to check.

just make sure that after you use the tank filled with the seafoam that you replace your fuel filter because all the sediment and stuff that the seafoam breaks up will get stuck in there

I'm planning on doing all 3, so would i need a second can for a tank, or just use the 1/3
idk if seafoam would dilute the gas too much, it's only 1/3 a can for 1/4 a tank, so it doesn't seem that far off |

if you do all three you can do either... i noticed 8 oz of seafoam in a full tank of gas... if you only have a quarter tank then the ratio is close to 1 to 1 for gas and SF

Did this recently. I would recommend using two cans. Pour a whole can in at the gas station then fill it up. Drive home and make sure cars warm. Do the other two parts and you'll feel the difference.
