Cool

Not As 94 V6 Question

I have a 1986 Mustang convertible with a 3.8 V6. Are there any performance parts available (aside for swapping in a 5.0) out there for this year of engine? I have seen them for the later years but nothing for the younger years!

Thanks for the info!

you should be able to grab parts from a 94 or 95 mustang as they still used the OBD1 system and weren't completely wired like the newer ones...

also you might be able to do something fun like ...

or something like that

1995 was the pilot year for fords obd2 and some of the later built 1995 Mustang v6's are infact OBD2 so watch out for that.

what are the differences between a OBD1 and an OBD2? What are the outward differences or parts differences between the two?

Hey guys my stang was made in May of '95. I think that it is OBD1, but I'm not sure. Anybody know for sure?

Some small differences are that the engine has more computer contact... the computer can monitor everything better and this in turn leads to better performance... when they switched from the OBD1 to the OBD2 the V6 mustang gained 10 horse power alone...
