Help! (Car Running After Removing Key)
i have an 06 mustang v6. I got home and tried to turn the car off and i turned the key until the off posisition the key came out but the motor was still on. I had to disconnect the alternator. wtf is wrong? feel free to ask me more questions

its the stang thats broken. I have the key out of the ignition and its not broken in the ignition. i think its the starter motor thats broken

the starter motor?? ... i know its the stang... it was a joke...
possibly a fault in the wiring... my advice... copy the link and PM it to like hmusn and some other people that might know ... i for one cannot help sorry

yeah, im havin so many problems with this car. Im def gonna try and get a diff one. Can u say lemon law? u guys would have been pissed if u saw what i was sayin earlier. I was sayin so many messed up things bout ford.

i'm suprised no one's come up with a real answer for this. if you pull the key out and the car stays running, theres a short in your ignition switch circuit somewhere. this may not narrow it down too much, but its somewhere to start. could be the switch itself, wiring, or worst, the ecm. i'd recomend taking it back to ford if its still under warranty. they have all the wiring diagrams to trace that out if need be, but chances are its just the switch.
this problem would not be caused by your starter motor btw, that merely starts the car, thats it, if it doesent disengage, you would have completely different problems.

wiring for sure i would just take it back tot he dealer if its new. if not your looking at tearing apart your steering column and looking at wires and testing cause something there is a short and its not disconnecting
