Cold Air Intake Question

My brother came home today and asked me a car question. He said there was a kid at his school that told him he could buy a little fan type thing that goes in your cold air intake that spins. He said it makes the cold air come in quicker and it adds like ten horse power... I had never heard of it. Any of you guys know what he is talking about.

Actually that sounds like a tornado. I have one in my car. I'll be selling it once I put in my CAI. There is no question that the CAI does more than the tornado. I have asked, and been told that it won't work in my CAI. It certainly didn't give me anywhere near 10 HP. More like 1 or 2.

omg man i hate those things so damn much. there is an instructor at my school for the diesel class who will absolutely sware by those things that they work. all it does is spin the air. awsome sounds great. but it doesnt do anything. its like congratulations you found something toturn the air. thats about it.

BTW guys the tornado was not useless. It did actually give me about 1.5 miles more per gallon. After awhile that does add up. Especially with gas prices what they are. As far as performance though, I'll admit you're right.

What if I mount a small air compressor inside my fenderwell and then connect it to my intake before the MAF? Will I need a new MAF or TB?

plastic supercharger? just say no!
