Door Panel Foam

Just wondering if the foam on the inside of the door panel serves any purpose other than just some noise dampening, because if that is all they are there for then I will remove them

It might also offer a bit of insulation, but for the most part yeah it's just for noise.

brock my pirror on the pasenger side so i need to replace it and when i put a spare mirro that was alredy craked in so i can drive whill im wating on a new one one pice alredy fell out so when i tack the panle off again ill pull out the other
alsomy gole for my car is road racing so evry little oz can help

ok i did not understand that at all

/fail for spelling and punctuation

and the foam doesnt weigh enough to be any kind of factor for road racing.. you may cut out what... 2 pounds?

Ok let me try this again. I broke my mirror so when I took the panel off to rut a spare one on one of the price of foam came off. So when I install my new mirror I was just going to tack the second piece out. And I know that that little weight won’t make a difference by it self but a lot of little things like that can add up. Also it can’t hurt not to have it

ok i getcha now... i would say that if you take it out, put in in a place where you can put it back in. that way if you are driving and dont like the excess noise or your car isnt keeping up the tpemerture that you want you can always put it back in

the foam also absorbs some of the blow during an accident..

as for temp my ac doesn’t work and as soon as I get a delete kit I’m going to remove it
And a little more road noise isn’t going to bother me seeing as how for about a month I was driving with a blown out muffler and a couple moths before that I had open headers for a little while.

And on a scale of 1 to 10 how much impact does it absorb 10 being the most
Since this is what I was primarily concerned with on removing them

well i kew it was for a reason but didn't know if it was somthing i wouldn't mind not having but if it makes it a little safer for my pasenger then i may keep them at least on that side

shoot man if your that worried about 2 pounds i'd be hopping my ass on the treadmill til i was 0% body fat. That 2 pounds will help you more than your 2 pounds (assuming most people have at least) of fat.
