Magnaflow or Flowmaster Dual Cat Exhaust

I have 2000 mustang which exhaust system is better magnaflow or flowmaster? Do they come with a polished tip because I've seen some v6 with bolt ons and their tip is not polished and looks really ugly...please give your opinion and/or recommend a better system if not one of the 2 above

Thanks

Magnaflow is all stainless steel and has polished tips, not sure how the flowmaster cat-backs come though. I've ran both on my '02 GT, Magnaflow is the better product and will make a couple more horsepower over Flowmaster, though Flowmaster sounds much better in my opinion, which is why I'm running those mufflers now.

I would go with the magnaflow but they will cost you a bit more.

i have a 2000 v6 like u, i chose the flowmaster 40's. it sounds really nice. i think with any exuast your not gunna really notice to much of a difference hp wise while driving your car. unless you already have a few bolt ons in ur car. not just CAI, but other mods. but for 5 hp if that, why choose magnoflow if ur going for sound?
5hp wont make a world of a difference on ur car. i'd go for sound n get the flowmasters.

flowmasters aren't that loud.. they just have a real nice low deep tone to them.. now any muffler in a v6 in high rmps is going to sound bad at some point.. but overall id go with flowmasters

with all cats, delta flows sound best, but magnaflows make more power- why i run the magnas.

I'm tryin to make the decision between Magnaflows and Flowmasters too. What do you guys hear about Pypes? For the price do they deliver the same sound/performance of Magnaflows or Flowmasters? I'm guessing the answer is probably no and I should spend the extra $$ and get something quality.

Pypes is a good brand, but chances are you won't get the sound you want. I know of a couple people that have gone with pypes, but these guys had v8s. So I can't tell you how it will sound on a v6. They were happy with the setup.

ya there is.. but usually they are all on v8's .. and if they are on a v6, sound clips on the internet always sound different then what they really would sound like in person... i went flowmaster 40's and i love it.. it has a nice deep tone.. but like AB said if you go with the magnaflow then you would have just a little bit more power.. but flowmaster sounds better in my opinion.

Do you think it would be a bad idea to have my local meineke do my custom exhaust? or should I go to some private dealer type of business thing?

hit up a muffler or exaust shop, any ford dealer will empty your wallet, and that mienke shop...custom exuast? might be horrible. Here it is

if your looking for sound go with flowmasters...most say its got a deeper hollow sound then magnoflow.

if you want a little extra hp(not alot my guess is like 5 tops) go with Magnoflow.

those are really your options, i'd choose flowmaster just because 5hp difference is w/e your not really gunna come to a race where your gunna sit thre and say, "damm if only i had another 5hp, then i woulda won." doesnt happen. UNLESS you've got a heavy modded stang then i dont know...thats not my field(yet)
