94 Looking For Ideas

I just bought my first mustang(94) and I'm looking for ideas on increasing the engine( 3.8) and looking for body kits. I found a bunch of kits on line but I've never been much of a motor head. However I've always had a thing for a wild mustang. So please send any upgrade ideas you might have. Thanks Chris

I honestly would not go with a body kit...i was goin to put one on mine and it was goin to cost me about 1500-2000 to get it because of paint job and installation...i would save your money and get CAI or UDP or headers.....

none of those three mods will really do very much by them selves...

I would go with getting an SCT tuner, traction lok, a lower rear end gear, and true dual exhaust

heres a link on what i mean by true dual exhaust

the most economical way to make some good power would be to find a used thunderbird supercoupe motor or doner car and merge the top end w/intercooler onto yours and upgrade to the 99+ MLS head gaskets while your at it.

I would add that to my list, the super coupe 3.8L makes 210hp@4k rpm and 1 whopping 315'lbs @ 2.6k rpm!

that combined with t-lok, 4.10's, a good tune, and true dual exhaust should make a rather fast v6 stang(estimated low 14sec 1/4 mile and a sub 6 sec 0-60!)

add a camshaft, a good port and polish head and intake manifold, and a bigger valve job to all that and you could see a whole lot more power!

(im have no experience with this sc mod, but thats what i expect will be the outcome)

I would not go 4.10s with a roots supercharger. I have 3.73 gears and I can spin through 1st and 2nd no problem. In fact if I had better traction I would be in the low to mid 13s.

a buddies car is pushing close to 500hp with a roots and had 4.10s installed a while before the blower and basically 1st and 2nd is worthless... he was running low 13's spinning on every gear change, should of easily been in low 12's upper 11's. gotta basically baby it off the line and try to kill them on the top end.

and thats why you invest in a different set of rear tires and wheels for the track only.

problem solved(sort of)

also, is he manual or auto?(3.73 manual = about 4.10 auto right)

DONT GET A BODY KIT. i got one and it was the biggest waste of money, i REGRET it soooo much, $3000 in the trash. with buying it, taking it on and off.. =(

if you want a real fast stang, save the money for a turbo set off TMA turbos.
other then that you have the regular options like the previous post(which are alot like this)

exaust
intake
gears
t-loc
ASP UD pulley's
tuner chip(x-cal 2)
Cams
headers
anything after that i'd suggest turbo or s/c

stop trashing the body kits like that. i got my kit for 300 and installed it myself. now maybe for you if might not be a great idea and you should take it to someone and get it done, depending on your experience. i dont know how much that costs,but.... you will have a gorgious looking mustang for well under "$3000".

heres my 94 with a kit.

not a fan dude. 94 is a slow year, and some simple things like gears and a tune can really wake it up. sublteties such as a saleen or roush kit are okay, but anything over the top makes the stang look cheap.

ok i doubt you installed that yourself....if you did then u probably do body work. and if you got your WHOLE BODY kit for only $300 show me where that is. cuz i searched sooo many sites and i didnt get that body kit but i never saw a FULL KIT for even close to $300, mine costed $600 not including shipping and $1000 to get molded on and painted, then another $900 to take it off. and $200 to get it fixed one time.

you have to paint it too. so do you paint also?! im not tryin to start an arguement but i HIGHLY doubt u got that whole kit and put it on and painted it for $300.
