i am buying a tuner in the next couple of days and was wondering if it is worth buying a sct livewire for a lightly modified car or should i just go with the xcal2?

they both perform the same basic purpose...but the livewire has alot of extra goodies, like reading your hp,track times i believe?, AF ratio ...etc

its up to you and the money you want to spend, i happen to think that the livewire is a hell of a tuner and would love to have it, however i am going to buy the x-cal 3 first because thats what i can afford and then later down the road when i go F/I i will go with whatever SCT has come up with for the new model of livewire

Get an Xcal3 Some of the features that the live wire has just in the Xcal2 body...

you cannot leave the 3 in your car like the livewire and you cannot use the shift light thingy the LW has... you cannot have up to date data logging ALTHOUGH it does do data logging from what i remember

ive heard allot of (bad)shit about livewires.. i have an x3, i got it for the same price there selling x2's. it does its job well.

???? i dont know what it means when it asks for shift mph+. i thought that that means it shifts at a raised mph. but i set it up all the way and my car wouldnt accelerate at all.

the livewire is nice, only complaint is you have to leave it plugged up to the OBD2, and you have a wire hanging there. plus there has been alot of them stolen by people stealing GPS's and stuff out of peoples cars.

are you going to have it custom tuned, or what? if your going to use SCT tunes, the strategy tuner comes with a bunch of pretty decent tunes.
