2004 Civic SI

This might not be the right section to post this in but heres the question..
My friend just bought a 2004 civic si, well his dad did, but anyways...what would i need to beat him? all i have now is an exhaust...and i dont want to spend the money on a turbo? is there anyway?

i ran a hatch down once when i was stock
if anything grab a $40 intake from ebay and do an underdrive pulley...

well lets start with this

03 04 si's are hatch.....but there not the bubbles.....

i believe they run low 16 second 1/4s

they'res some 00-04 range they had a hatch before the new style

yeah its a hatch...and i think he said it has an exhaust on it..
i see it tomorrow..he said he wanted to race but i dont wnat to lose to some civic so yeah
do u think a cai would do it seriously?

the only si's that wher hatch backs where the 03 04 and possible 05 if they made the car that year, but it wasn't a bubble

the only bubbles where just regular hatchback civics.

every other si in america has been a 2 door coupe

who ever has manual and can drive it will probably win

get a CAI. and hope you can launch. of the line those things are turds. but when you get on the top end, he may have what it takes to get you.

if he beats you, send him my way though. he would shut up then.

'02-'05 Civic Si's are EP3 Hatches

All of them are 5-speeds w/ the K20A3 engine (same engine as the base RSX)

In general, they run high 15's - low 16's in the 1/4 stock.

That being said, if you've got a 5-speed and he just has exhaust, you've got a really good chance, even stock, if you can match or beat his driving. If you're an auto or he has more than just exhaust, you may need some bolt-ons. Gears and T-loc would be good either way.

The 06+ FG Coupes are 6-speeds, but I'm pretty sure the 02-05 EP3 hatches are 5-speeds.

did the kid with the cobra really say get a cai and practice your launch??

last i checked whooshing noises don't help you win races... and this is a naturally aspirated V6... he cannot just change a pulley and tune it and get 50 horse power ... we have to do a bit more work to get power out of our cars

you can take him. i beat an 03 si stock for stock w/ only my exhaust and cai...but it was close and from a dig.
