spend a few bucks, and get a decent one. i installed a beya CAI on my friends 07 GT, and it was a complete POS, nothing fit right, no instrutions, ended up throwing it in the trash, and buying a JLT like i told him to do in the first place.

i bought an intake off ebay for my 99 v6 and it works great, i could probably get a different filter for it but im not even driving it at the moment so it doesnt bother me...but yeah just use the one you have, even if you had bought a brand name intake its not like it wouldve given you a shit load more power anyway, maybe 1 to 2 more hp but in the end you are just paying for the name

according to most aftermarket cai manufacturers....a cai for the v6 mustang is about a 7-11 rwhp upgrade. Id say that matters.

they all say that, including most v8 companies.

it's crank HP not rwhp.

or the cars they tested were already modded.

all intakes do on naturally aspirated cars... that are not super cars or any shit like that... is make a cool whooshing noise...

ebay is your best bet for a CAI... plus it has a gauze filter like K&N uses

... those cars that they show that on can't be stock... they are most likely modded out there ass... ported and polished intakes and heads... Cam upgrades... exhaust upgrades tuned and shit like that...

no way you are going to see 7-11 out of a CAI... i didn't even feel any gain from my under drive pulleys

you cant boast a false statement to market a product. I believe it is called FRAUD. And that "swooshing" sound is the sound of greater airflow. Keep in mind that all an engine is is an air pump. More efficient air intake = more power. AND under drive pulleys DO NOT ADD POWER. They only slow down accessories which more efficiently delivers the SAME amount of power to your wheels.

it's not a false statement.
it's a loophole is all..

notice it says "up too"

these gains are for a v6 mustang
Ford Mustang 3.8L V6 Performance Parts FREE SHIPPING!

Dyno Proven Gains Of Up To:
28+ hp and 21+ lb-ft Torque Increase!

do you really think that you are going to see that on an otherwise stock v6 mustang?

That link show a CAI, a bigger TB and a TB spacer. When you have more than one product you can use that loophole, because the statement "adds up to" could be with a specific tune.

Mac Performance - performance accessories for cars, trucks, and motorcycles

Now in this link the power increase is for ONE product. You dont make a statement like that unless you know your ass is covered if someone wants to test it.

the statement
"adds up to"
will always be a loophole because all motors are different.

regardless.. ask anyone here with a v6 if they saw 9 rwhp.

You will not get that much rwhp from a CAI on a close to stock car. I have had a CAI in my last car, and about to get one on this car.

Thoese gains are tested on cars with others mods, on a dyno, where there is a perfect condition for the engine to run. Is it not fraud because they CAN report the gains, on the car THEY use... does not mean its going to get that on your car, its just "possible gains".....
