95 V6 Tuner?

so i have for a long time pondered on what to get for my mustang i even bought a 88 ford f150 5.0L but idk how all that fuel injection crap works so i decided i will probably keep the v6 anyway so tuner is probably the best bet so which one works ? i know the live wire is out there and looks promising but will it work on my 95 ? ? any help would be great thanks

if you have obd 1, which you probably do in your 95, handheld tuners wont work for you, you will have to buy a chip. you should check first to see if you have obd 1 or 2

isn't 95 the testing year for obd2 on the 6ers?

if you have one of these.. it's obd2 and you can buy a tuner.

they had some obd2 cars in 95.. it was in the testing phases.
i think only some of the v6's got it.
not all of them though.

yes i believe it is either 95 or 96 but im pretty sure its 95, thats why i said he needs to check if he has obd 1 or 2. if he has ond1 he needs a chip, obd 2 he can use a handheld

Yes and no, maybe?... talk to Justin at VMP Tuning Inc and tell him that you have a 95 with obd2 and ask him... he will be able to confirm or deny if it will work as he deals with these often...

Also there might be forum members that will know... H? you know?

DDR might be able to tell you as well he does tuning and is a member...

so just ask around and see if you can get a confirmation

as long as your car is obd2 it can be tuned with a hand held tuner.

well the gains on a 99-04 are around 19HP if your stock.
yours should be a little less than that.

once again it depends on the exhaust..
you will get more HP from long tube headers than you will with just a cat back .

Yeah, just to clear up any confusion ford switched from the ODB1 to the ODB2 for the mustang in July of '95. If your car is made before that then you have ODB1. If it was made in July or after, it is ODB2. Unfortunately for me, mine was made in a May. So I have to settle for a chip
