You can put windstar intakes on 6ers to make them faster.
I havent heard of this before What kind of power does it make from it? |

your only going to see 3-8 horse power... no one has dyno proven it...
this swap is best for nitrous applications as it gives a more smooth better shot into the heads with the plastic intake... also they are way more easy to work with if you were to set up a Direct port wet nitrous set up

as far as the windstar goes. its a pain to relocate a bunch of crap and make custom brackets. only reason to do it is for the nitrous, or a little bit bigger of a throttle body. i think they're stock 70mm? and can still be ported i would assume? anyways its a good modification if your bored and want something different that doesn't cost alot and it also improves your knowledge a lot once you do it. just an opinion though

Wow, this thing got some posts in a hurry. lol.
First off, yes, aftermarket hood. Next, FI is certainly NOT out the window. Also, 4 days to get everything done, we needed to fab stuff and make some aluminum spacers. Nothing huge or hardcore, just little things, for example, deleted the EGR and just moved some lines. That was it. If ALL materials were ready and at hand at time of need, it would have taken half the time. No, I just have the Windstar upper. Still got the stock Mustang lower with the IMRCs still in em. Gross. IAC is ziptied to the rear. A bracket was made for the IAC to bolt on to, with attachments for hoses. One hose into the CAI and the other hose into the manifold itself. I went straight to Tom Y. from SuperSix about this intake. I saw it on his setup in his 10sec. car and wanted to know what the deal was. He said that it was one of the best. He doesnt run FI but does a good shot of NAWZ. After a few email exchanges, heck, why not? Found one, and went for it. Dyno numbers? Yes, I could have done a before and after, but have only done the after. Someone did post in another board, THOUGH, that he ran 10hp less than I did at the wheels with the same mods/bolt ons as I have, MINUS the Windstar setup. That may just be enough. Like I spoted before, peaked at 180 at the wheels, couldve been more if I did some head work to compensate the extra air. Last edited by One Bad Sixxx : December 17th, 2007 at 03:23 AM. |
