What kind of transmission is on the 94-95 V6?

Is the transmission on the 94-95 a 4R70W or is it aT45? Maybe it isn't either one. However, I was thinking it was 4R70W. Does anyone know for sure?

To do a 4R70W swap you will need to get the car tuned with the different transmission paramaters to account for it. The AODE and 4R70W transmissions have different gear ratios and the computer uses that information for several things.

AODE gear ratios
1st = 2.40 to 1
2nd = 1.47 to 1
3rd = 1 to 1
4th = .667 to 1
Reverse = 2.00 to 1

4R70W gear ratios
1st = 2.84 to 1
2nd = 1.55 to 1
3rd = 1.00 to 1
4th = 0.70 to 1
Reverse = 2.32 to 1

Hey man thanks for the info. I'm planning on getting an 8.8 rear with 4.10's. Maybe I could save up and do the tranny swap at the same time. That way it would just be one tune.

You need a new computer for the car
Your gonna need 99+ gauges because the old speedo is driven by a gear that is no longer there

This is not actually true until you start working with a 2003 4R70W transmission. There was an 8 tooth speedo drive gear on the output shaft on these transmissions until at least then. On some models there is still the drive gear, but if we are talking strictly Mustang transmissions then 03 and newer would cause a problem on that front to swap into an older than 99 car.
