is it possible to get a diff with a button up front where u can change on the fly?

that may b a stupid question, im not that knowledgeable w/ diffs

well nothing like that that i know of
but there r quick change rear ends that alow u to interchange the gears so u van go from a 4.3 to 3.4 or what ever set up u get,
and u can do it relativaly when compared to a geguler gear change
let me se if i can find a link on that

i know u can change between 4x2 and 4x4 on some trucks but thats old news

Yes electronically controlled differentials do exist but i imagine any aftermarket setups on vehicles that dont already have this would be incredibly expensive. my dads titan has an electronically locking rear diff.

Also as far as an open diff being better for winter that is just plain wrong. How is one tire spinning in the snow trying to get your car moving and one not moving at all better then having two tires trying to get you moving??

I had an open diff and now have a truetrac, and i can tell you first hand in the snow its a lot better having 2wd then 1wd

ohhhh i thought you meant my old 7.5 open diff carrier. I do still have the 7.5 rear end.

well... i would most definitely call the true trac an upgrade over the ford 7.5 LSD rear end ... the reason people say the 7.5 can't hold much is cause they use sloppy differentials... if you put a nice differential in, you can see plenty of ground pounding power...

i see.. i knew the 7.5 could hold up to between 300 and 350, but i dont know how high it can go... im hoping one day ill make enough money to be able to add some performance to my stang lol

yea the truetrac is nasty. i had an 8 disc hd tlok and decided to sell it cause i figured i would probably destroy it. i could probably beat a small group of children to death with this thing which one would you choose lol
