Theft Device

hey just wondering if mustangs have a stock theft device on them. i see a theft light on my dash but i never see it flsahing. is there a theft device onit and it just isn't working?

yes they do.

it's called P.A.T.S

passive anti theft system

you have to give people more time to get on and answer. usually people get one later in the day, so patience my good man.

my 04 gt has a theft light that blinks underneath the speedometer on the dash

sorry guess i should have been more patient. yea mine has that light but it doesn't flash when i lock the car. is there maybe a wire loose or something that would cause it to not work?

i am sure it works.
your car wouldn't start if it didn't.
it's probably a loose connection to the light or a bad bulb

I thought the anti-theft system was an option?

oh really. ok so if someone were to break a window to steal something out of my car would an alarm go off?

no the fatory ones don't go of at braking glass, unless it is a rely expensive car or u get a high end aftermarkit alarm systom.
however what the stock ones do is if u lock the car then it gets unlocked from the inside and u open a door it sets the alarm off, or if u lock the catr from the out side then try to start it, it goes off

well i have had to open my car with a hanger many times and it hasn't gone off yet?

yeah so it's a good chance that your car can't be started by someone who breaks in.
but your stuff sounds like it's fair game...

i really don't want to get my speakers stolen. any cheap suggestions.
