98 Mustang v6 UDP installation......
Pretty much what it says.....how do you do it? Is it complicated, errr? Or would you recommend I just bring it to a mechanic and let them do it?...

That doesn't help him out. He has a 98 not a 99-04. I think they started the whole harmonic balancer in 99. So it helps out to a point, but not completely.

you need to remove the serpentine belt by pulling loose the tensioner pulley, then use the balancer puller tool to remove the stock balancer after unbolting it. once out, swap in the new one opposite of removal, install shorter belt, drive

guys....on 94-98 the crankshaft pulley and vibration damper are two pieces. to install the udp remove the belt, unbolt the four bolts holding the pulley to the damper, apply a threadlocker, bolt on udp and install new shorter belt.
i *believe* the torque spec is 105 ft/lbs, i just ran mine up "gut and tite" using an impact. |
