if you want muscle and power, save yourself the hassle and just buy a v8 and start from there, way more potential

Ok well first i have a couple questions. about putting all this money in my car... cause when i sell it the value will be alot less correct?
And so first i guess i should start with the 8.8 rear w/ t-locl and also a dual exhaust. then gears and nitrous. if i get nitrous will i always be able to run that with wutever else i may get if its a turbo or supercharger? and also can i get some more info on nitrous like what the shot sizes mean and how long it last and how much hp i get and how it all works... and also anyone know were i can get that thing that spits fire out of your exhaust... and a purge like this... how much would that cost? and what dual exhaust should i get. and one last questions. what about a small turbo or supercharger? or would it be better to go with full bolt ons. what are your guys ideas? but can anyone help me out with my other questions...??? the first thing i need help with is what exhaust i should get. and if i should just do bolt ons n stuff n no super or turbo charger... or maybe a pro charger would work? i dont know anything about them? |

just go ahead and do nitrous, gears and t-lock w/ that $1500. or at least do nitrous and a tuner. your best bet is probly, nitrous, cai, tuner and exhaust. nitrous-$600(used w/ all accesories) cai-$50 tuner-$380 exhaust-$400(h-pipe and catback only tho) thats perfect for right now. later on you can get the gears and t-lock when you have more money |

you dont need the 8.8 unles syou are making BIG power.. the 7.5 rear with TrueTrac will hold fine (or anything better quality than t-lok.. like auburn or detroit lockers). you should decide on whether you are going to go with supercharger or turbocharger for your gears. for s/c get 3.73, for turbo get 3.55, if you are going to go all engine, do 4.10 for auto or 3.73 for manual. also, if you want to do turbo or s/c then you do not need a CAI, your s/c or t/c kit will come with it. you also really need to know what you want to do as far as s/c and t/c for your exhaust as well. for t/c you will need to keep your stock manifolds and get an h-pipe that will fit shorty headers, or get long tubes and matching h-pipe if you are going s/c or n/a.a 75 shot of nitrous will be fine on your stock components, but a tune would be adviseable (flash tuner will suffice). as for the purge kits, you can buy co2 purge kits but its a complete waste of money. what a normal purge kit does is gets any fluids out of yout nitrous lines, its not for show but does look pretty good. as for the flame throwers... done even bother. it can mess up your exhaust and can cause problems.. its purely for show and a waste of money as well.

k so heres where im at. i dont know if i should go with a t/c or s/c or neither. what are my options with that because i dont wanna spend tons of money. Also wont i need parts to be able to go that fast and be somewhat safe?
and i have a tuner... so right now i need to decide what power option i should go with. without spending lots of money... i wanna aim for maybe up to 400 horse... when i get the nitrous will it come with a dual purge that i can use at any time? hp equals money
if you want to have the horses you have to have the money. a t/c or s/c will cost you at least 3 grand. then you will need the beefed up rear-end (auburn or detroit for lots of hp or upgrade to 8.8). beef up your internals if you want big hp (forged everything). stroke your engine to 4.2 or 4.3. full exhaust (matched to s/c, t/c or n/a). full bolt ons. it really doesnt matter what route you are going to go, you WILL spend money for lots of hp. oh yeah, dont forget to beef up the tranny also. and your suspension as well. decide on what route you want to go first, then build for it. whichever way you go (s/c, t/c, or n/a) a 4.2 Stroker with forged internals would be the best base for it. you could jsut forge your 3.8, but you wont see the extra hp you can get out of a 4.2. my advice your be to start decideing which way you want to go and build the engine, then add which ever you want to go. also, remember that you will need to have a lower compression ration while foing FI, and a higher with going n/a. |

those are pretty much your options. you could build a monster n/a but if you want the power, FI is the way to go. SSMS built 4.2 storker pushes some good numbers if you wanted to go n/a
