Octane booster

is it just me or does the octane booster that you can get at parts stores not do much of anything? i bought some the other day and it's sposed to raise it by "ONE WHOLE POINT!" didn't do anything...now i'm thinking about trying some of the "not street legal" stuff cause i'm bored. what cop is gonna pull me over and test my gas? anyways, input appreciated. thanks

u will not see any gains with high octane..

unless you got some mad power in there

why not put 100 octane on your lawnmower and tell us what happens

octane booster would be the same thing ass filling up with 89 instead of 87 at the pump. does nothing just doesnt ignite as easily and that is why higher comperssion ratio engines use higher octane so the air/fuel mixture doesnt spontaniously combust in the compression stroke before and the spark from the plug is supposed to ignite it at TDC

Only one point? I've seen stuff that claims it'll boost it by 15 points. I've used 104+ brand booster (not "street legal") and have noticed a slight difference. Might just be a mental thing though.

well if you like octane booster then your gonna love these nifty magnets you put on your fuel line. the make the electrons in the fuel go in a striaght line and burn more evenly. from the makers of the tornado and fake vomit and dog doo. hahaha

I only bought the stuff because it claimed it would clean my injectors.

If yur gonna buy fuel treatment just to clean your injectors and remove gunk from your pistons then go with lucas fuel treatment. Even with that you prolly only need to do it once a month. And that lawnmower is pimp btw SSS. Who builds that kinda stuff anyway? And why would anyone build a 300hp V8 tractor.

octane booster is pointless, only time i have ever seen it used with a point is on old carbed cars that have a ruff time keeping idle.

and an octane booster is strictly to prevent a ping. IE, you put the wrong fuel in for your tune or your tuned for fuel that you cannot buy at the pump so u have to boost the octane with an additive. it dont give you any more hoarse powaz

So i could set the tune for 100 or higher and then put in pump 93 and a bottle of octane booster to bump it over 100? or is it kind of pointless to run 100+, would i notice any difference?
