Need help w/speed

Hey everyone, ok heres my problem i can get my car up to 110 with no problem (just takes some time) but as soon as i hit like 113 i start to slow down. My foot is still on the gas! I think its the speed limiter or something but what i want to know is what is it and can i take it off? And if so how?
Thx for the help!

Yeah it's a speed limiter, It's what ford says is the fastest you can go and still be a little safe. You can raise the limit with a tuner, but I would not recommend removing it unless the car is gonna be a 1/4 mile queen.

well it makes sence if u have a stock car because it is not at all safe to be driving that fast. regardless of were u r because the tiers, and suspention cant handle that speed.

Don't remove it. Get a tuner. That will eliminate the problem. However, I agree if you are going to go that fast you need some other mods.

yes its the speed limiter. you need a tuner to eliminate it. and you shouldnt be going that speed on the street or with tires that arent rated for that speed.

it takes about 20 mins to get it up to 120 anyway and you wouldnt even be able to get there in the 1/4 mile at a track and you shouldnt get there on the street. you would need tires rated for 120+, it would also be a good idea to upgrade suspention and lift the speed limiter with a tuner.but like i said it would take you about 120 to get there.

to actually see how fast you are going you could get a GT guage cluster and have it calibrated to work with your car. the GT guage clusters go to 150 but it is pointless because you would never need to be going that fast

Removing it won't hurt the car. I have mine removed. Gonna put it back on when I get gears, and prob just have the car only get up to 60 mph. Put it in like a valet mode. But removing it won't hurt the car anyways.

Now bud in your predicament of you admitting you drive like a dumbass on the streets i think you should lower the speed limiter to about 45mph.

You can go faster than the speedo says. Just because your speedo stops at a certain speed doesn't mean the car does. It's just showing a reading of how fast you are. You can opt to change out for a speedo with a higher reading as well.
