Hey man Welcome to MM!!! You have come to the right place we can help you with just about anything you can think of.(at least as far as your car is concerned.) I would say get new gears and a t-loc. Then get either an SCT or Sniper tuner. If you have nay money left pick up a cheap cold air intake on ebay. Once again welcome. feel free to PM me if you have any more questions.

Welcome to MM man, as said before, you came to the right place. Another thing to look at would be a Under Drive pully if you got money left over after the other mods.

I went more in the looks direction. Side window louvers,gt side rocker panels, painted side mirror covers, grill, taillight bezels, ect. The thing I got the most feedback is the louvers. They run about $200-$300 painted, and take about 10 minutes to install.

before you get gears i would get an SCT Xcal2 www.vmptunning.com has them
its basically like having 3 chips but more advantage. with this you can adjust, air fuel ratio at WOT, you can adjust your speedometer for any new gear settings, bigger tires, you can advance or retard your spark timing as well. all in help of performance

when you buy the device it'll ask you question about your car. and VMP will give you 3 pre-loaded tunes for your car. usually a fuel saver tune, 87 octane tune and 93 octane tune. it'll also help you out for future modifications on your car

next i would then get Gears and t-lok(limited slip, posi)
t-lok basically increases traction and allows both wheels to spin for the better traction but also allowing "limited slip" while turning so you dont snap anything.
the gear is basically a new ring and pinion gear ratio. the new ratio increases wheel spin and acceleration greatly.
this is how it works
now this is just me pulling numbers out of no where. from your crank it connect to your transmission and if your in 1st gear your driveshaft(what connect to your rear end) will spin and make 1 revolution for say every 5 revolutions your crank actually makes(this is not a true number just an example)
now while you driveshaft spins once it spins a pinion in your rear with metal teeth along a ring gear. depending on the amount of teeth it'll spin the tires more or less. so say you have 3.27 gear ratio and your driveshaft spins once and your actual tire maybe spins 3/4 of a turn. a different gear ratio can increase that to say 1 full turn instead of 3/4 or maybe even 1/2 a turn
this is the general rule
3.27(stock) > 3.55 > 3.73 > 3.90 > 4.10 > 4.30 > 4.56
4.56 will accelerate you the fastest out of the above. but traction is also an issue so you have to think about that.
with a turbo or s/c you may want to re-analze your gear choice

for a bolt on set up most people follow this
manual-3.73s
auto- 4.10s
if you dont do a lot of high way driving
i'd say manual-3.90s
auto-4.30s

the effect from 3.73 to 4.10s is noticable but gas difference is about 1mpg highway.
street isnt to noticable

ehxaust is also another mod you might want to look into

Welcome to MM

good places to start with that amount of money would be a tuner, i would go with x-cal2/3 since it sounds like you are pretty new to the mustang world or you could get dual exhaust. i suggest going to a custom shop and having it done, true deals, custom H pipe and flowmaster original 40's. others will argue to go with mac and those sound good as well. i would get a couple other mods befrore the tuner because the tuner will bring out the most HP in the mods you put on.
i would also say go with gears and a T-loc but i would wait for that till after the tuner for that.

there are alot of possability. it really depends on if your going for looks or performance. either way Welcome to MM and we are happy to help you with any of your mustang needs

a SCT XCAL is a type of tuner.
a bolt on is.. a "bolt on" performance part for your car.
a t-lock is short for "traction lock" and it puts power to both your rear tires
instead of just one (like you have it now)
welcome to the forums btw.

not only that but it gets the most HP and performance out of every mod you buy as well as letting you do a lot of other useful things, such as lift the speed limiter, retard the timing, and a good list of other things

Alright so what would be better for the money, a tuner or a dual exhaust. or how much does each cost?
