Rims

I saw the thread on tire size and decided I wanted your guys opinions about rims. I know I want to get black bullitts on my dsg car.

Well basically a little over a month ago some jerk off rear ended me bad. Bad enough that the car is still in the shop (hopefully get it back by Friday). The good news of this situation is a big insurance settlement for my injuries. Which means i am going to make a large payment on the car and get a new set of rims and tires.

What size rims would everyone recommend? I was thinking 17x10.5 deep dish in the back and 17x8 or 17x9 non deep dish in the front. Would that look ridiculous or give it an aggressive look to it? I can't picture it. Also, how would 17's look compared to 18's in everyones opinion? Any recommendations are really appreciated. Rims and tires aren't cheap and I want to make sure I'm really happy with the look.

Why's that? the reason i was saying 17's is because they're the only ones I could find with such a wide back tire. Its either 18x9's or 17x10.5 no 18x10.5

you can get 18 x 10 wheels
I don't know of many people with 18x 10.5's tough.

I prefer performance to looks So I would stick with the 17's.

yeah, thats what I think I'm going to go with HMUSN. Someone bumped the FR-500's thread and I like the look of the deep dish 10.5's in the back.

But in reality whats the weight difference between 17s and 18s?

Besides fr500's look to small in 17s to me...

it depends on the wheel honestly.
some 17's are heavier than 18's.. but rotational mass also plays a big part as well.

17's and 18's can have the same rotational mass, depending on wheels. Just buy the right size tire, so it has the same overall diameter as the old wheel and tire did.
