whats your point? just because you can but them with a Y pipe doesnt mean they cant be custom made into true duals

ya know, you can customize almostt anything you put your mind to....my point is that all the DIRECT FIT parts still use the Y-PIPE. thats all.

i was under the impression that all cats do is restrict pollutants(by restricting airflow which is bad) i thought it was the faster the air comes out the faster it goes in, unless your car was specifically designed to function with the cats, therefore if you take them off it wont function correctly because there isnt enough backpressure(caused by having the cats/restricted airflow) or am i wrong? so i guess what im really asking is unless our car is designed to function with a certain backpressure how would taking of the cats lose performance?

your very wrong, cats are a catalyst that chemically changes the composition of your emissions to reduce environmentally harmful emissions. you car will function completely fine with out cats. however if you have down stream O2 sensors (after cat sensors) they will be off and throw a CEL. you can turn them off with a tuner or use MIL eliminators to fix this. yes it will lose back pressure. no its not that much to worry about. its not lie running headerless

well thats ultimately what i meant, losing backpressure doesnt go against perfomance
