interior light trouble...?

So I've had this problem ever since I got the car. Sometimes when I open the door, the interior lights don't come on. I have the same trouble with my trunk light. However, sometimes they work just fine. They always work during or just after driving. And sometimes they work at other times, but it is pretty random if they do or don't. If they aren't working, they will begin to work immediately if I turn my key to the power on position(without actually starting the car) and of course they work if I start the car or it is running. I know that my alternator is good, and my battery is holding a charge just fine. In fact, I got a new 3 year battery about a year ago. I had this problem both before and ever since getting that battery, so I don't think that is in any way the problem. It's not like this is a big deal, but I was wondering if you guys had any idea what the hell was causing this problem, or what I should do to fix it. Thanks

does temperature make any differences? or is it just random. If it does it when its hot and not cold or vice versa....there is a connection problem....if its just random it prolly also a connection problem. Check around the fuse box to make sure the wire harnesses are gettin a good connection.

Thanks. I'll check the connection. But if that's the problem, why does it work 100% of the time that I have the car's power turned on? It also work 100% of the time for the first 5-10 minutes after I have been driving. I'll check the connection cuz I haven't and it's a good idea, but if it's a connection issue I don't know why having the car on would make any difference.
