the main ground to your car is grounded by a bolt to the starter. my electrical prob was simalar but it never killed the car it just drained the battery and my lights were dimmin in and out. you might have blown a fuse somwhere in addition to a bad ground. if you have a book on it start readin.

okey i found a ground wire from the engine block to the fire wall and that is good and tight, i checked all fuses and they are all good. How do i get to the starter. I know where it is but it seems very hard to access even from under the car. And as if everything wasnt already going bad enough when i shut the door my rear window shattered. HOW THE FUCK DOES THAT HAPPEN!!!!

shitty deal. a rock might have hit it and chipped it. and the starter is on the right side of the bell housing (passenger side)

yea but do i have to have to at it from the front of the car, or behind the front tire? Also, do you think the starter could be my problem? It sounds like the car turns over just crazily slow like it isnt getting enough juice, but there seems to be plenty of charge left in the battery. So im thinking a starter wire is loose, but then why did the car kill while i was driving it???

Same thing happend to my car when i droped the 4.2 back in!!! but yea it was the ground. starters need crazy cranking amps to turn a car motor and if it just clicks an ur radio still works thats what it sounds likes. try for shits and giggles running the jumper cable from the negative on the solonoid to the negative on the battery and give it a shot.... good luck man

ok well i went back to the car and found ten dollars in the snow so im like hey eveything is going great. Then i got in the got and it turned over real slow then started, and i was like holy fuck i found a magic ten dollars that fixes cars. So i start leaving and about 30 seconds later reality hits me and the car kills again an wont start. With the help of some people i manage to push the car out of the road back to where it was but in doing so my brand new cell phone fell out of my pocket and got ran over. So i dedided this is one unlucky fucking day. But then i got a friend to bring his dirt bike trailor and the car started and lasted long enough to get it in the trailor and now its home in my garage, but it ran like shit and now has a check engine light. It feels and sounds like its running on about 4 cylinders. This exact same thing happened to my camaro a few months back and that still sitting in my yard because i never figured it out. But Tommorow i will buy a code reader and see what is wrong an hopfully fix both cars. But right now lets have a guessing game and see who can figure out the problem and then tommorow when i find out you can feel really smart and good if you guessed right.
So my guess is something to do with the coil pack being worn out or something like that....

coils, spark plugs, wires. but that would just make it run bad not make it refuse to start. so idk

sorry to hear man hopefully its something nice and easy like a wire shorting on the block...

it does happen from time to time and can prevent a car from starting or turning over...

and talk to the people at the phone store... they might be able to replace it on bad day insurance

dude ur kinda making this a bigger deal than what it is, it doesnt matter how tight your ground connection is, if its a bad ground it needs replaced, so just replace the ground and if that doesnt work start somewhere else...same thing happened with my mach 1, it just wouldnt start yet my lights worked and everything...so all i did was replace the ground that went to the solenoid and it fired right up

In my old car I had a bad chass to engine block ground. My car would start, but when it moved everything got dim and weird.

Also, my car did this a while back. I was driving, and everything started goin real slow, then died. Car would not start. Ended up bein the Alternator positive connection had come lose just a tiny bit. Retightened, and boom new car...

Check all power/ground connections, check and clean your spark plugs, and just do a good look over and fiddle with sonme stuff. Act like your cleaning the engine, look around for somethings that seems odd. If you cant figure it out save up some money and call the repair shop

are u sure u mean camshaft position sensor and not CRANKSHAFT position sensor? If you have a faulty CPS, your ignition system wont even generate a spark. try that.

yes it is the cam sensor not the crank, and when installing the motor we had to splic in a new cam position sensor so im sure that is the problem
