i blevie it is due to runing in to some sort of extra bracing that the verts have.

i believe its because of the extra supports under the verts there isnt enough clearance for the L/T headers to come down because of the way they curve. i dont remember the exact reason but there is clearance issues because of the verts supports somewhere

You could probably find a shop that would make you some custom LT's that will fit.

ive never heard of clearence issues with MAC LTs. The extra bracing is all in the chassis like sub frame connectors i think. The only thing that would be a clearence issue is the k-member....and they fit fine. Also MACs website mentions nothing about them not fitting convertibles. Contact MAC and ask them, before you start buying their parts from a middle-man company. Plus a custom set of headers will be double what you normally would pay.

can u modify that brace then? here an article i was able to find online from a worked up V6 convertible and they are using MAC LTs.
Google Image Result for http://images.musclemustangfastfords.com/features/0305MM_ORANGEDEMON01s.jpg There has to be a way to do it without gettin custom headers.

Um i think i said that they LTs WILL work which is what you are saying also...am i wrong? And u have an attitude problem u punk. I was wrong with the KB ill admit that. But i didnt know the V1 would work on the same bracket as the V2 setup...and i was only goin off of vortechs site. And punctuate you posts jackass, so ppl can actually read it.

To get this back on topic. The reason why longtubes won't fit is because of the k-member you can swap it out or notch to get them to fit, but they won't fit with the stock or un-modified k-member. Thats also why LT headers won't fit a 98 v6.

Yur right right, this is a forum...which is where you get other peoples opinions/views. I only challenged the KB and was wrong, and did not know SSS V1 setup worked that way with the V2 bracket. And im sorry, i dont appreciate having to decipher some 18 year old punks posts. Hate me all you want. But have the decency to allow other people to read what you type. Maybe you need to be in a class to learn how to type.

I figured you would be able to modify the k-member. There are issues with V8 bassani headers and convertibles where you have to do the same thing.
