what kind of brakes?

What would be the most cost efficient brake upgrade do do? cobra take offs? I def need new brakes before i bring my car out of the garage in the spring, and i dont think it needs anything serious like brembo or baer. What do you guys think. Cobra take off would only be a little over 1k.....brembo and baer were like 1.5+

Cobra brakes are a good upgrade.
I don't see you paying 1k for them though.
I got mine for just under $400.00 from a friend

I have <3s for my wilwoods. Should see if the calipers will be a direct bolt on, if they are, you can get them for like 300 or $400

Cobra's aren't even CLOSE to $1000, even if you buy them new... unless you're talking front AND rear AND shop labor.

Buyfordracing.com has Cobra front kits (calipers, pads, rotors, lines) for ~$400 and Mach 1 kits (mechanically the same, just grey) for ~$350.

I am talking about both front and rear brakes. To use to the calipers, you must buy a rear bracket kit which is like 175. Plus id also like to use slottted/cross-drilled rotors. And a pair of 13" rotors are like 200 alone.

Well, you neglected to mention the fancy rotors originally. Seems like rather than just buying the front kit and rear braket kit for a total of ~$600, you'll spend a bunch more for the arguably worthless (performance-wise) fancy rotors. If it means that much to you looks-wise, go for it, but there are a lot better ways to spend the money performance-wise.

I havent had my car to the track yet, and it may only see it if it get a power adder. So id rather have slotted/cross drilled to keep the brakes cool.

Well, that's my point, many of the Mustang guys on corner-carvers... people who actually race their cars seriously... swear by the plain rotors. Not only are they much cheaper, they're durable, and the guys on there generally consider the performance gain from drilled/slotted rotors to be minimal or non-existant.

Like I said, if you really want them, go for it, but there are a lot of other mods that give you better bang for your buck, in my opinion.

FWIW, I'm not trying to annoy you or argue with you, shadow, I just know that money's tight for most of us V6 guys and I hate to see people spend a bunch of extra money on stuff that may not offer much benefit.
