so i idle issue i had way back when has sprung up again. ive cleaned the IAC, used electrical cleaner on the MAF, ran injector cleaner, used seafoam, and replaced fuel filter. is there any thing else that could cause it.

oh and side note i was driving down the highway and i decideted to try something: i took my car out of gear (manual) and turned the cruise control on and pushed the set/accel button down and my engine reved up to 4500 before i just put it into gear to make it go away. any ideas??

lol i tried that once in my rx7... my car freaked out and wouldn't let me do anything so i had to turn it off then back on ... lol

sounds like you might have a vacuum leak if you checked all those

u should beable ot by ganaric vacum hose and cut it to langht, and befor u go replacing hoping to get lucky i owuld seggest, if u havent already, looking for craks or splits in the hoses and just replace those.

um yea.. that's supposed to happen man.

you were losing speed when you took it out of gear and your cruise control was trying to regain the speed you set it at.

quick question if i disconnect the inertia shut off and purge the fuel lines would i be able to just plug it back in and start my car?? (off topic and i know)
ill go look at the hoses, i was told spraying carb or brake cleaner near the hoses and youd hear a jump in RPMs and that would indicated a leak. yes?

that just sounds like the stupidest thing ever i thought cruise control only worked if the car was in gear like it had a sensor of something?

notice how your CC cable is attached to the throttle?
also notice how if you hole the accl up button your gas petal goes down without your foot?

Don't feel bad.. It happened to me once in my sixer when I had first bought it.

I had the CC on and went to down shift to pass someone without turning it off..
it revved right up before I put it back in gear.

BS... the cruise control should turn off when you disengage the clutch if it doesn't ford sucks

Ford sucks then.

However if it doesn't disengage when you tap the brake you might have an issue.

CC should disengage as soon as you press the clutch in, it says in the manual and it works on mine
