you shouldnt need forged internals unless you plan on running high boost. vortech 9psi is safe on a stock engine. However in the near future you should want to upgrade the 7.5 axle to a stronger 8.8 like the GT. As far as engine internals though....you should be ok

depends on mileage and how much boost you wanna run whats your horsepower goal?

im not sure yet how much hp i want to go yet, but i was talking to my friend chris, who is also starting to get into fixing up his car and he said that if i was to supercharge my car i would probably want to change the transmission, and reinforce it in a bunch of places

i agree with greenfaleen. its all about your HP goal. vortech with 9psi will get u 250-280 at the wheels, and is safe for stock cars.

your tranny is a beast, it will be good till about 300 hp, probably wanna get an upgraded torque converter at around 250 hp just to help with launches, if you have over 80,000 miles and plan on driving it hard at say 7-9psi it would probably be a good idea to forge the crank, rods, pistons, etc. All the top end stuff not really needed at that time but a good idea, probably gonna want to stud the bottom end just as a safety precaution, and your gonna wanna at least get a nice LSD if not upgrade to an 8.8 rear end.

if you put a vortech at about 7 psi you will see around 240s to the rear wheels, will have no issues driving it on the streets, and can upgrade and build up your car as needed depending on the amount of income you have etc.

now to get a vortech at 7 psi is a little work gotta do some pulley swapping

why not just leave the psi pulley on? It should still be streetable and safe...no?

depends on how safe you want to be... 7 psi is guarantied to work 95% of the time... like if he had 150k + miles on his car then he might want to go with a slightly lower PSI ...

If he has a low mile car that is never beat on then 9 psi will work and is safe, but you will have to replace internal parts with stronger ones a few thousand miles sooner then with the same engine same everything at 7psi

also there are no two ford engines that are going to react the same way... so one engine might melt down at 9 psi and another one might be able to kick 11psi in the face...

so you can see that there is a lot left up to how its finally tuned and how well everything comes together

Traction is an issue, you need a tlok and decent tires

Tranny t-5 380-400rwhp it'll probably start to go
Stock clutch- just get a spec stage 2 clutch they're plenty good
your rear end-a t-lok has been holding me fine. with 8.7psi im sure im over 300rwhp and 300rwtq for sure and im on the 7.5 with a ford racing t-lok.
but i'd get a 8.8 rear after 300rwhp at least unless you have a detriot t-lok

after 370-400rwhp get 31spline axles and t-lok in the 8.8

the bottom end-dont even worry about the crank no one has yet to even snap it, or anything to it. you'll be good to 12psi on a vortech with 93 octane pump gas
if you wana be safe 8-9psi but at least do some porting and polishing to the intakes
expect about 240-280 with 7-9psi depending on your setup(im assuming stock motor bolt ons)
with 11-12 psi from vortech or procharger over 300rwhp but not far like 300-320 with bolt ons

times with 11-12psi probably run low 13s-high 13s depending on your gear ratio in the back
4.10s and bolt ons and 11-12 psi will sit you at low 13s
you'd need more work to get in the 12s
intakes, cam etc..

Yeah but he doesn't need a 2.5k crank.
