recomend

ok this is what weve worked out so far -

front = 245/45's on 17 x 9 rims
rears = 275/40's on 17 x 9 rims

tirerack recomends 255/40/17 on those rims the shelby ones

would this work

285/40/ 17x9 rear
245/45/ 17x9 front

they have some
BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW

Size: 285/40ZR17

or will this not work ?

yes. as you turn your wheels the rotational mass turns as well.
more weight thrown around = slows you down
17= less weight thrown around = faster with 17's than 18's.

245/45/17 up fron and 275/45/17 in rear. you will be happy with em. and the bfgoodrich kdw is a good wet/dry tire too.

ouch but --

ok if i do this set up:

front = 245/45 on 17x9 = $145.00 each
rear = 275/40 on 17x9 = $173.00 each

tire = bfgoodrich g-force T/A KDW

rims = shelby torque thrust -- $266.00 each

total = $1702.64 -doesnt include tax, shipping or mounting yet.

think thats a good value? ( i am new to this )

its expensive yes....but yur gettin nice looking chrome wheels that allow the use of a wide tire (ex. thw 275/40/17 in the rear) and you chose really good tires. yeah id say its a good buy.
