yes its more of a quick in and out of the clutch while throwing your gears around... power shifting takes timing and skill... and its advised to have a short throw to ease gear selecting... though not required by any means

so is there anyway to practice this without messing to much up till i get it down? or just go for it and hope nothing happens

practice at lower engine speeds... don't try it at redline... try it at around 3k that way if you have troubles getting it into gear like it should you can take your foot off the gas and correct the issue

and a reminder... don't street race... your putting other lives in danger by doing so
