trac off

posted in suspension section, but no replies. i took my dash apart the other weekend and noticed that there are already wiring harnesses for the trac off and fog light buttons. if i get a trac off button and plug it in, will it work? i figured if the wiring is there, it should as there is no hardware right? doesnt is just adjust something in the ecu? where can i found a trac off button, i cant seem find them anywhere. All i can find are the defroster and fog light buttons!! thanks guys

try Ford.. I am sure they carry them.

or a junk yard as an alternative.

as far plug and play I highly doubt it

no the button will be useless. the wiring is there so if the car came from the factory with the traction control option they could just plug in a button. if it doesnt then the wires will just sit there.

it would be just like if you were to hook up a foglight switch to the foglight harness, just because you now have the button there, foglights wont turn on because you dont have any

will i figured so with the fog lights, but i just wasnt sure if there was any hardware for the trac off. i figured if those wires were there then there might be a chance that everything else is there. haha

whatever, i was kinda expecting this answer. ford is such a cheap ass.

What do you need traction control for if you can't spin your tires anyway?

i used the fogs as an example to explain what i was talking about.......

if you had TC the button would have already been there, they wouldnt have just covered it up. you can buy the switch if you want but it is a waste. if you had it the button would already be there
