06 v6 mustang exhaust help
Hey guys been looking over forums for a while and couldn't find anything about this so if it has been posted a lot my bad but need some opinions.
I have an 06 v6 mustang what i have done to it so far is cold air intake, bbk throttle body, Mac Long tube headers/h-pipe/dual exhaust kit. I think my problem is with the mac prochamber h pipe but wanted some more input but when i'm giving it some gas right at about 3k rpms it rasps up a bit in the inside of the car it is pretty annoying. The funny thing is outside of the car it sounds completely different it sounds actually really good even at that point but it just bothers me because i guess i think other people hear it and the last thing i want is for a mustang to sound like crap. Here is the thing it only happens on the way up if i let off the gas it doesn't make that noise on the way down. Like i mentioned i'm thinking its just the prochamber h-pipe from mac making the noise. I have already doubled checked all of my connections to make sure it isn't a rattle or anything like that and even taken a rubber mallet to hit the prochamber a bit to make sure it isn't rattling against anything under the car. Do you guys think i should try to run with straight pipe to see if that will take care of it or anyone had a similar experience? On a side note the exhaust being duals and with those headers sounds really impressive kinda funny everyone asks me what i have in that car and i tell them a v6 and they think i'm lieing because it sounds so good lol |

it will sound different. there isnt really anything you can do to get rid of it. i dont have a prochamber so im not sure exactly what it sounds like. maybe ssstang can help, he has one. but it sounds normal, its going to be a little raspy because its a V6 and even firing

yah the funny thing is it only sounds that way inside the car and only at that 3k mark, from what i read about this car at around the 3k mark thats where i'm pushing the most torque but i mean everywhere else it sounds extremely good in and outside of the car. Just throws me off every time i hear it.

Education: The prochamber is not an H pipe.
Your problem: Is probably from the fact that nothing sounds good on the new 05/s197/4.0L mustang. Mine made a resonating sound when I first got it that rattled everything on the inside of my car but it wasn't anything bad. I actually think the prochamber is what keeps my car from turning into rice after 3000rpm.

for how much time u got the exhaust?
u know that when mufflers yada yada are new they tend to change the exhaust note after some weeks after they get broken in

They have been on there for about 2 months now, i wanted to give it some time before i posted anything to make sure they didn't need to get broken in, something else i noticed on my way home it only happens when you are in gear and all that, if i shift to neutral and rev it at that point it doesn't do the same thing at all.
Just what throws me off about this so much is from the outside it sounds crazy good, and inside it sounds extremely good as well but from 3k-maybe 33-3400 it rasps up a bit but from the outside it sounds normal just gets on my nerves is all lol Oh and also have a friend that used to work at ford one of the guys there loaned me some gt mufflers because the MAC mufflers are pretty massive i thought it might have had something to do with maybe tips being too big for a v6 but with the gt mufflers definitely a lot less noise but that rasp at 3k still there and it comes from what it sounds like directly under me where the prochamber is at but of course noises like that can sound like they are coming from one area and not be.
