is it bad...

Because its winter i have my car parked for a long time and i dont plan on taking it out at all except for the upgrades im putting in, but my question is is it harmful or damaging in any way to just leave it sitting with the battery disconnected till spring?

ur battery will be dead, u may have bad fuel, flat spots in ur tiers if it isent up on jack stands, also rodents could get in there and mess stuf up ( i had some get in to my parents deloran, and made a nest out of the wirering.)

start it at least once a week and let it run for like 10-15 mins, maybe give it a few revs. but dont just let it sit there and rot

just crank your car, and drive it about 30 mins a month you'll be fine

this is good, but let it reach operating temp before you start reving it. Since the seals may have dried a little from it not being run, and you could cause a small temporary leak. I have not ever gotten flat spots on my tires either, so jack stands is your option. Definitely hook up your battery so you can keep a charge on it....or run a trickle on it to keep it charged.

if the battery dies from me not have a trickle charge and stays dead for a long period of time do you think its still possible to recharge so it will hold a charge when i start driving it again.

wow so every one agrees that just letting it sit is bad for the car and that i should start it every once in a while to keep it in good condition. see my reasoning for not starting it was i figured that all the dirt and loose particles fell to the bottom of the oil pan so when im ready to drive i just change the oil. i guess i was wrong.

Yeah, I let my snowmobile sit for the off season and the first time i took it out the belt ripped in the middle of the lake. When i went to get the extra, i reached in and there was a family of mice there to greet me with a nest of chewed up fan belts.
