4R70W shiftkit/torque converter

I have the 4R70W auto and i was thinking about these:
B&M Shift Improver Kits: BMM-40266 - summitracing.com

B&M Holeshot Torque Converters: BMM-50402 - summitracing.com

I was told that 2400 stall would be too low and i would not get a performance increase with it. What stall should i go with then 3000? And are there any other parts that i should get?

The shift kit might be ok.

The thing on that converter is that they may rate their stll by one of the goofball methods of rating stall that I have seen elsewhere before. I sell my stuff by actual stall and not by any other rating. What those other guys do really hurts the guys that use the actual stall way of doing it because it causes a lot of arguments that needn't be. Bottom line is that stall ratings can really get messed up when the company doesn't have the factual info to start with and that happens a lot. They think the stock converter stalls at 1800 and this one is 600 above that so they call it a 2400. That would make the one that I suggested to you stall at 2200 when it is actually really a 3000. This would make my 3000 converter a tighter converter than that one you have linked.

Also, that is a nice little lightweight converter that will get you moving off the line but has less actual lockup clutch friction material than you need to lock the converter clutch up at wide open throttle. So there are both decent advantages and a serious shortcoming to it.

Just like with the Precision Industries single plate Stallion converter. Great 60' times, but you will get your butt handed to you down the track if you go up against a car with the right converter in it. They have a habit of messing up their stall ratings too.

Honestly, unless they are rating that one wrong then you shouldn't see much, if any, gain over stock out of it.

If you dont do alot of racing, is a torque converter needed? I plan to only tak emy car once in awhile just to get some times when i actually have some power. My car is a DD.

If you are worried about too much stall or the cost of the converter then I have several PI torque converters that I have taken in as cores and have sent out and had completely rebuilt to new condition. I normally let those go fairly cheap and I have them in 2400-3200 stall ranges right now.

These are relined with a woven clutch material too. I had my builder get rid of the paper clutch material that causes almost all of the failures on that converter. So they are actually better than new from PI. I can also warrant them, but I can't give a free restall.
