because to me nothing beats the sound of a GT, and with a 302 stroker with a low compression and a 150-200 shot of nitrous i'd have myself quite a monster and not really have to worry about a v6 sneaking up on me...only for about 5 grand at the most too
hell i could have bought an LS1 camaro...but its not my thing.

and i didn't buy a cobra because 1. there wasn't a Cobra for sale locally and 2. they are to expensive..as a college student paying for my school out of pocket, my car insurance, and payment.

a car that is turbocharged typically has a shorter engine life and requires a lot more maintenance and frankly i don't have the time

alot more maintence....like?
changing the oil regularly?

i dont see $5k covering a stroker kit for your car, top end work and a good nitrous kit

also just want to throw this out there...your car is impressive

but the problem is the way you come across bro...its that attitude
if you were a cool dude, you'd be my hero for doing what you've done to your 6...but you seriously just need to sit down and think before you type this stuff out man.

now you may choose to come out and say i'm not dad or whatever and blow it off, or you may actually take what i have to say to heart and learn something about yourself and maybe even make some improvements

check out MMR's stroker kit for the 4.6, or hell just forge the 4.6 for about 2.3-2.8 grand

just what the turbo and n/a cars i've been around have shown me.i used to hang out with the local 300ZX club and drive out to a meet now and then...from first hand experience the turbo cars encountered more reliability problems, of course the only proof i have is what i saw and experienced

not tryin to spark anything but a nitrous vs boost being safe....
also look at audi or jettas
the only reason no one gets nitrous is because they're scared
or heck $500 for 100hp why not!

most people dont see how nitrous can be actually fairly safe when used correctly

yeah factory turbocharged cars are usually very reliable...its just when aftermarket setups are being used, the greater the chance of things going wrong, again just what i've seen first-hand

i myself prefer nitrous to turbo

You no normally, when something goes wrong (again normally) its user error.

> turning the boost up too high.
> bad tuning.
> combo of both.

Theirs a guy who has been running 8psi with a super s***ty tune for about 2years now, and his car his still together.

With regard to 2008 GT's for $23,000, I present Brandon Ford's latest ad:

Bottom left of the "new" section...

BTW, I'm just messing w/ you, Chris. I understand your point that there's a big difference between the price of a comparable V6 and GT. Brandon Ford sells new V6's for as little as ~$15,995, so it's still $6k cheaper

But either way, that's a DANG good deal for a GT. I bet there are PLENTY of people with V6's that paid more than that.
