Brake Pedal Squeek

when i press on my brake pedal it makes a rusty squeeking sound which is pretty loud and really annoying. does anyone know how to get rid of this sound? does it need to be oiled or something?? it even makes the noise if the car is off and im just pressing the break so its not the pads or w/e it has to do with the actual pedal im guessing.

Did you check the linkage on the pedal? Up near the firewall? It could just need to be oiled.
