no problem dude. just disassemble the black box and you should be able to follow a group of wires into the box to the MAF

um k so i have the 2004 3.8 i'm pretty sure th 3.9 is the exact same i bought the cheapy blue sliver one on ebay approx 60$ if not less cause i'm in canada eh. but yeah just int he MAF theres a sensor you have to take out and install i know K&N makes that crap but soo damn expensive lol anyways just hit up ebay the 3.8 will fit the 3.9 you got lucky and got a little extra room
 but not to much is changed engine wise so don;t go looking all hard core but have fun trying to find ignition wires i had my customly made just cause no one likes the year 04 for mustangs haha

you wanna talk about a year that nobody likes. Try having a 98. I thought all the 04 v6s were 3.9L.

nope i got lucky haha anniversary edition v6 with traction control 3.8 ( the 2004 brochure doesn't even say a v6 can have traction control ) o and my 2001 mustang didnt; have abs brakes
 go figure why i slid into a truck last year. good thing to find out on the spot haha

guess that was early in the year or somethin. My ex had a 40th anniversary with the 3.9L. Not gonna get into that though...I think she got mad that I always wanted to drive. Yea, my car doesn't have abs either.
