Wrong CAI Need Help!

i got and 04 V6 3.9L mustang and i want a CAI but i cant find one for my model! I got a CAI but it was the wrong one so i talked to the guy that worked at mac performance and he didnt believe i had a 3.9L and after i convinced him i did, he said they dont have any for me so im looking for a CAI that will fit an 04 3.9L thats hopefully under $200 cause i paid $190 for the wrong one!!

thanx,
Eric

K&N FIPK II makes one for the 3.9L 04 specific american mustang models.

also, MAC makes one that fits 99-04. any 3.8 split port cai should fit a 3.9.

im not shure what the part number was, UPS already took it back yesterday, but it cam from California, it was the fenderwell one, and they did send me the wrong one, it was like 96 to 01 and i have an 04 but i called telling them we got the wrong one and we told him what size my engine is and he said they dont have one for my engine! my stock CAI has a security hook up that plugs into a like plastic piece but the CAI that i got showed a like metal piece in the middle where the security plug was in so im not shure if a new CAI comes with that or what? but that was giving us trouble!

96-98 won't fit 99-01 because of the * of the connection at the throttle body changing from near 90* to near 45*. it should be labeled as a 99-04

there is no "security" features for a CAI, just vaccuum lines and connection for iat sensor and pcv
maybe they sent one for the 4.6L? there is no line of engines that changes from 96-01 for the mustang

you take the MAF out of the plastic box and replug the sensor to the pipes using the rubber couplings and you discard off all of the stock piping minus the MAF

no, the MAF is a metal cylinder shaped object with a plug for electrical hookup to monitor air flow and mate fuel. without it, i wouldnt drive your car

well i dont see that on the system, thats what i was wondering if i needed to buy one cause all i c is a rubber toob comming from the throttle body going into a big plastic cylinder which the sensor wire is going to and then into another toob which at the end is the filter.

pull that box out and remove the air filter and dismantle the box completely, you will see the maf. your car cannot run properly without one
