Final Sanding....
What is a good sand paper grit to go ahead and rough up the paint on the car and as a last sanding to use before I bring it in for paint?

It comes with 2 color coats and 3 clear coats. As long as its taken care of properly it should last for 3-4 years

i hope your not sanding it by hand the entire car
that'll take a good long time take longer to finish it then the paint will last =)

Sanding by hand will yield the best results. however the macco paint job wont give the car any justice

I'm certainly no expert on body work, but have had one quality paint job done with me doing the body work. I had the whole car taken to bare metal by shot blasting and then did the bondo work and sanding. What they shop did was to shoot several coats of high build primer, let that set up for several weeks, then hand sanded it and shot the color coat.
The paint is typically about $1K so I don't see how anyone can do a good job for less than that. I have had Maaco paint a few cars and it worked out OK, but not a high quality paint job. |

places like that paint stuff quick, in and out pretty much, so you arent gonna get a quality paint job, if you want a good paint job, take it to a body shop as is and expect to pay around 4 grand, depending on the body shop and how good of job they think they do
oh and if ur just sanding the paint off your car for them to use the original primer, thats a very dumb idea, the paint wouldnt stick for shit

And now I'll sum up what everybody has said.
Do Not Take Your Car To Maaco.
