94 V6 to a 99 V6

I am 16 and I have gotten my first mustang. I love my mustang very much but after some hard driving to impress the ladies my engine blew. When i pulled into my driveway one night the car overheated and white smke poured from the hood as anti-freeze poured down my engine. I replaced the thermostat and the radiator hoses and the anti freeze but it happened again. Now I have heard about the many problems 94 mustangs have and most people says its easier just to replace the engine. I have the money lined up for w/e engine i want but my dad says I need to stick with a V6 for now so my question is. Can I replace the engine with a 99 V6? If I can would my Headers and cual Flow master exhaust still be compatible? I wanna get my import killer back on the streets so if anyone can help it would be apreciated.

you probably blew a headgasket on yours. you can get either a thunderbird supercoupe motor with the eaton m90 s/c that makes 240 bhp or you could get the 99-04 split port 3.8 from a junkyard for about a grand.

the blocks are the same for all three motors to mount at the exhaust manifolds.

no comment on the import killer comment.

if you replace the head gaskets on the 94-98's do not use the same ones that came on it, get the 99+ MLS gaskets

Thanks for all your answers guys. I really appreciate the help. Also all my racing is done on a track called Larue its a closed 1/4 mile track where teens can race for 10 dollars.
