Question

New exhaust

BBK Shorty Headers (99-04 V6)
Would those make a good investment? And What else should I look into getting muffler and pipe wise? Recommendations much appreciated!

It is widely accepted that shorty headers offer very little benefit over the stock manifolds. Longtubes offer more gain, but even then, they don't offer great bang-for-the-buck on stock-ish cars... power-wise, at least.

first off, do you have emissions? this will determine what kind of, how powerful, and how the setup will sound.

if no emissions:
mac long tube headers
mac short off road H pipe
cat back of your choice (for the GT model of the same year though)

if emissions:
stock manifolds or replacement (junkyard) 1998 v6 mustang tubular headers
high flow catted H pipe
cat back of your choice (again, GT model of the same year)

if you can find a catted shorty h-pipe, u can still use LTs....or buy the o/r shorty h-pipe and buy cats and have a shop make you a custom catted h-pipe.
