5 speed trouble

2400+ rpms when i try to shift into 5th it grinds when it goes in like really bad and its really loud......anybody know what this could be......or how much it would cost me to fix it

im not an expert but try shifitng in to it at a higher rpm, and see if it still hapens

dont shift in it fast
hold the clutch for a second then slowly work it in

my car has done that since forever...i knew why but i forgot
its pretty common for our cars

yea thats what i usually do is hold the clutch in and let the rpms drop a lil but at higher rpms it still does it
