misfire
hey remember i told you guys my car was idleing bad? well i tested it today with my obd2 tester and it read that it has random multiple misfires. i kinda know what this means but how do i fix it and what caused it?

Check plugs wires and coil pack.

Also check your freeze frame data and see if it specifies what CYL misfired last. start with that one and take a look at the wire and plug.

Most OBD2 tools support a freeze frame. unless its a cracker jack box scan tool. mine i can scan and then interface with my pc and it tells me when all the codes took place, engine temp, rpm speed all the good stuff.

well mines cheap so i guess i can't check that. im thinking that i need to get new wires and plugs for it. but i don't know that it would help any

check your computer...mine fried to where it was telling my number 6 injector to constantly stay open so i was missfiring bad..just throwin that out there

i took mine to a mechanic..thats all i could do..the whole time i thought i had a bad wire or injector..thats what everyone on here thought too and idk how they go about checkin the computer..

oh well im def going to try and hope that mine is a wire but if all else fails i will def go have that checked. and did you have to get a whole new computer? and how much did it cost?

yea i had to get a new computer...but..i have OBD1 so it was kinda hard to find one....all and all i paid like 300 bucks for a new computer and labor..

my f150 was misfiring last summer and i had a tune-up performed. it runs fine now. you may have to do the same

mechanic played you i doubt you computer was bad let alone FRIED you'd know if your computer was friend it wouldnt run not just say oh your #6 injector is open...thats just a bad injector easy like $30-50 40minute job most likely if your having RANDOM missfires in each cylinder your coil is bad check your wires with a spark tester that you can buy at any auto store

honestky idc aslong as my car got fixed...had a trip to go on in two days so i said whatever...we cleared it with a scanner and it was fine momentarally then acted up again..
